Its Book format makes it possible to reduce the size of the machine, especially when mounted in an electrical cabinet alongside other control devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), I/O units. 

Its advanced connectivity, including CANopen and Modbus, allows it to be integrated into the main automation architectures without having to use additional network equipment.
